What is a Master Plant Dieta?

A Master Plant Dieta is a deeply personal and powerful path of healing, transformation, and connection to nature. It's a sacred practice that invites you to look inward, explore your light and shadow, and rediscover your true essence.

While it can be profoundly healing, it also requires commitment and inner strength. Colleen is here to support and guide you throughout your journey, but the real work comes from within you. Colleen feels that everyone who may be called to this path has what it takes to walk it with courage and grace.

Master plants are considered sacred teachers and healers. They offer unique gifts, helping to address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances. In the Shipibo tradition of the Peruvian Amazon, these plants are seen as wise beings—living spirits with the ability to communicate, guide, and transform.

The Master Plant Dieta is an ancestral practice passed down through generations of Amazonian healers. It’s called a “dieta” because it involves specific dietary and lifestyle guidelines designed to help you connect more deeply with the plant’s spirit and teachings.

But it’s much more than a restricted diet. It’s a journey of self-discovery, growth, and awakening a long-term relationship with the plants and with yourself. Over time, this practice can offer lasting insight, strength, clarity, and healing.

Why Combine Dieta with Ayahuasca?

When combined with ayahuasca ceremonies, the dieta becomes even more powerful. Ayahuasca is a potent medicine that helps cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. It can bring to light old patterns, emotional wounds, and even forgotten parts of yourself creating space for deep healing and a return to wholeness.

Together, ayahuasca and the Master Plants work in harmony, each enhancing the other's healing and teaching potential.

What Does the Dieta Involve?

Each guest receives a carefully selected Master Plant, chosen after a one-on-one consultation. Your plant will be chosen based on your unique needs and intentions.

Over the course of the 10-14-day journey, you’ll participate in three- four ayahuasca ceremonies. On the days in between, you’ll drink your personal plant brew and follow a specific set of dietary and lifestyle guidelines.

The Diet: Supporting Your Healing

To create the best environment for the plants to work, you’ll follow a simple, clean diet with no salt, sugar, spices, oils, dairy, red meat, or fermented foods. Meals are light and served twice daily on non-ceremony days, and once on ceremony days.

You’ll also practice noble silence, minimizing conversation and distractions to stay focused inward. Colleen will encourage limited use of music, reading, or other forms of entertainment, there will also be no wifi access. Guests also avoid chemical products such as soaps, toothpaste, and deodorant, and there is a complete pause on sexual activity during the dieta.

Preparation and Integration

This is not just a 10- 14 day experience it’s part of a larger cycle that includes important preparation and integration. Following the dieta, you’ll continue certain restrictions and practices to help the healing settle and integrate into your daily life.

The Wisdom of the Plants

For thousands of years, indigenous healers have turned to the plants for guidance, insight, and healing. Through generations of practice and vision, Shipibo shamans have come to know certain plants as “Master Plants” or “Teachers.”

These include plants like Bobinsana, Ajo Sacha, Albahaca, Marosa, Coca, Pinon Blanco, Rose, and Mapacho Tobacco, among many others.

Though most are not psychoactive, they are deeply spiritual and are experienced as conscious beings that you can form a real relationship with. Working with them requires respect, intention, and skilled guidance.

Why Guidance Matters

Opening a traditional dieta is delicate work. Plants are powerful allies, but they can also be overwhelming without proper support. Colleen brings years of deep inner silent training, vision, and much care to each dieta she opens, monitors, and closes.

Her role is essential—not just in choosing the right plant, but also in aligning its energy with your healing path. This energetic work is subtle but foundational, and it’s why she has only worked with trusted, high-integrity shamans for almost 20 years.

More Than Just Food: Lifestyle Restrictions

Beyond diet, the dieta includes restrictions on physical and social activities. This is to protect the subtle energy of the plants and help them integrate into your system.

For example:

  • Sexual activity, hugging, or close physical contact is avoided.

  • Deep or emotional conversations with others are minimized.

  • Exposure to strong smells, chemicals, or large crowds is limited.

Even your thoughts matter. The dieta can bring up old patterns, emotions, or limiting beliefs. Part of the work is learning to sit with those experiences without judgment, letting the plants guide the clearing and transformation process.

The Gifts of the Dieta

When approached with sincerity and respect, a Master Plant Dieta can offer profound gifts: insight, healing, clarity, emotional balance, and even sacred songs known as icaros. These gifts may come through ayahuasca ceremonies, in dreams, or during quiet moments of stillness.

For the Shipibo, dreams are a sacred channel, a way the plants speak, teach, and guide. Over time, as your relationship with the plants deepens, these dreams can become a beautiful part of your spiritual path.

In Closing

The Master Plant Dieta is more than just a retreat, it’s a ceremony of reconnection. It’s a chance to slow down, listen deeply, and realign with who you truly are.

If you feel called to work with me, I am deeply honored to walk this path with you and support you every step of the way.
